The construction of the residential building was completed in 1923 and was built by a project that was designed by the architect . The ornamentation and the sculptures are the work of the Bulgarian sculptor . The construction was commissioned by the wealthy industrialist, and merchant of wheat and cars, Stefan Kapitanov, who was one of the importers of Hudson Phantom cars around 1920. He was married to Zoe Kapitanova, with whom he had three sons, Iliya, Manol, and Polykhron.
