Milko Zhelezov House

The extension project for the residential building was created in 1932 with a design that was created by the architect . It was built for the Bulgarian officer, Colonel, and Commander of the coast guard of Varna, Milko Zhelezov, who was born on November 4, 1872, in Varna. He completed his high school education in his hometown with full honors, and then His Majesty's Military School, and from 1904 until 1906, he studied at the Higher Artillery School in . He was the first organizer of the coastal artillery defense of the sea border of Bulgaria. On October 6, 1912, with the accurate fire of the batteries commanded by him, he foiled the attempt of a Turkish squadron to destroy the port of Varna.

During the , he served as a volunteer commander of an artillery unit and fought in the region against the Serbian army. At the beginning of the , he was the commander of the coastal artillery group of batteries in the Navy and the Varna Fort. On February 1, 1921, after 51 years of service, participation in 3 wars, awarded 10 orders and medals, Colonel Zhelezov retired from service. He died on October 28, 1955, in Varna at the age of 82.
