Petko Bakardzhiev House

The residential building was designed by the Viennese architect together with the Bulgarian architect . The construction began in 1893 and was completed in 1894. It was built by order of the wealthy Varna merchant Petko Bakardzhiev, who later moved to . One of the mayors of Varna, , also lives here. It was expropriated in 1929 by royal decree due to the settlement of the status of the Sea Garden as state property. In 1944, the director of Radio Varna, Yordan Karanov, moved the radio to this building, where it was housed until 1997. In 1997 it was bought at an auction by the Varna businessman Krassimir Uzunov.

The biaxial symmetrical building is built in the styles of Neo-Baroque and Neo-Classical. The dormers that are placed within the mansard roof are different in size and are adorned with . Some of them even contain , while others contain an motif. On the northern side of the building, you'll be able to admire two decorative vases just above the roof . Underneath the roof cornice, you can see like with in between them a . The that are placed above the circle top windows contain a female that is surrounded by laurel wreaths with ribbons and festoons. The windows are flanked by that are crowned by a Corinthian . On the north side of the building, you'll also able to see a small wrought iron that covers one of the entrances.

On the east side of the building, you'll see a Romano-Gothic tower with a pointy on top of it. The entrance underneath the tower is flanked by two round shaped pilasters that are crowned with Corinthian capitals. The keystone above the circle top window is adorned with a male mascaron that's surrounded by and ribbons. A bit further up you can see a fragment that's embellished with a decorative shell, foliage, and the construction year 1893. Above this fragment you can admire a beautiful spectacle, which includes a male figure as well as two female figures.

On top of the other windows, you can admire a pointed with a decorative shell in the center of it, a feature that you can see around the entire building. The pediment is supported by two small corbels within the midst of it a festoon. A can be seen underneath each of the windows that contains six .
