Splendid Hotel

The original building was built in 1911 as a residential and commercial building and was designed by the Bulgarian architect . It was built for the Bulgarian engineer Petar Bonchev, who had no heirs so he donated the building to the Municipality of Varna. It was in use as the city court for many years and even temporarily housed a branch of the Varna Post Office. In 1984, the building housed the district communications department, later renamed the Bulgarian Telecommunication Company.

In 2004, the building was renovated and upgraded by the Bulgarian architects Vaska Racheva and Milen Stefanov. In 2005, the official opening of the Splendid Hotel took place.

The building is built in the Eclectic style and contains some Neo-Classical and Neo-Baroque elements. On top of the corner, there is a tower-like hip roof, which is crowned with . The building contains a total of three , one of which is placed on the corner of the building at a 45 degree angle. This oriel window is supported by two supportive . On top of each oriel window, there is a small balcony, which is secured with a stone balustrade that is adorned with . Above the windows on the second floor, you'll see a pointed , which is supported by two corbels. The center of the pediment is adorned with a richly decorated . Some of the window frames on the third and fourth floor are decorated with a group of circles and a that makes the above it protrude. On the south side of the building, there's a small porch supported by two corbels, which hangs above the main entrance to the hotel.
