Dimitar Popov Mansion

The residential and commercial building was designed by the Bulgarian architect and was built in 1907. It was one of the first buildings from the early period of the architect's work, with which he hints at its great potential. The semidetached house was built for the Colonel Dimitar Popov and for the pharmacist Asen Grozev. Dimitar Stefanov Popov was a Bulgarian Officer, and Colonel of infantry and was born on February 10, 1871, in . He took part in the , as well as the and on July 14, 1913, he got promoted to the rank of Major. He also took part in the , as Commander of the 5th Infantry Danube Regiment. He was dismissed from service by Royal Order in 1925. Major Dimitar Popov died in 1934.

The symmetrical building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Classical, is crowned by two roofs. Between the two spires, you'll see a segmental gable with a majestic decorative vase in the middle. Between the two windows, you can see a fragment that includes a circle and some on the bottom of it. There are a lot of fragments at other places on the facade that also contains a circle and guttae. Underneath the two spires, you'll see an open pointed , and a little bit further down you can see two both crowned with an Ionic .

Between the pilasters, there's a small balcony supported by one . A little bit further down there's another balcony, in this case, supported by three corbels, one of which also functions as a . The windows on the second floor are topped with a pointed pediment that's supported by two corbels. A richly decorated was placed underneath the pediment. The aprons underneath the window are more simplified and feature some rectangular forms and reliefs. Some more corbels can be admired underneath the between the second and first floor.
