Savoy Palace Hotel

The former Savoy Palace Hotel was built in 1929 and opened its door to the first guests on the 1st of November 1930. The hotel was built by famous hoteliers with 52 comfortably furnished rooms, the facilities of Western European hotels, with central heating and all running hot and cold water with a bathroom and telephone on each floor. Years later, the building has not changed its purpose and is still operating as a hotel. During the renovation, that took place in 2019, the building changed its color from yellow to light beige.

The majestic copper onion dome of the hotel, which is built in Art Nouveau and Art Deco style, really stands out. Just underneath the dome, you'll see a containing the initials Д.В. (D.V.). In between the circular windows, you'll be able to see two female figures holding a palm branch, which is a symbol of victory, triumph, peace, and eternal life. A bit further down you can see three round shaped balconies with a stone balustrade. The same balconies, but in this case a bit bigger, are placed on both sides of the building. The rounded feature of the gives the facade a richly playful effect. The top gables on both side of the building, which are flanked by two male figures, is another feature that also attracts attention. The roof is supported by like . Another nice detail are the and the tulip like ornaments that can be seen around the entire building.
