Konstantin Genov House

The residential and commercial building was built in 1911 and was designed by the Bulgarian architect . It was built for the wealthy Bulgarian fabric manufacturer and merchant Konstantin Genov, one of the five brothers from the Genov family. He was a merchant in cloth and other consumer goods but was also engaged in charitable activities. From 1920 he was the chairman of the Varna Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The original plan of the building
The building, which was built in the styles of Art Nouveau and Neo-Baroque, features a beautiful Dutch style gable on top of it. Within this gable, you'll see a lion head with a garland flowing out of his manes. Between the two garlands, there's a fragment that contains the initials К.Г. (K.G.). Underneath this spectacle, you'll see a that's surrounded by richly decorated floral ornamentation.

On both sides of the gable, you can see two open pointed , which contain a lavishly decorated shell. Underneath it, you can see two wing shaped ornaments that are adorned with , as well as some laurel twigs. This ornamentation is flanked by two that are holding a ribbon in their mouths, which is holding up a garland wreath. On this same floor, there are two small balconies, both secured with a cast iron railing.

There's another balcony located on the second floor, which is supported by three that are adorned with foliage. The balcony is secured with a stone balustrade, which is embellished with and some ornaments containing . Around and above the balcony doors you can see a nice display of a lot of different geometric forms. The building contains quite a lot of simplified that contain reliefs. On the west side of the building, there's a with a balcony on top of it, which is secured with a cast iron railing. The loggia is supported by a column that's crowned with an Ionic .
