Nikola Voinov House

The four-storey residential and commercial building is situated in the southeastern part of the Lion's Bridge and was built in 1927 by its first owner Nikola Petrov Voinov, who was a local pharmacist. The building is a great example of the post-liberation architecture of Bulgaria. For a long time, the first floor functioned as a pharmacy (АПТЕКА). Even now, the inscription that marks it, is visible on the facade.

The building is built in the styles of Art Deco and Art Nouveau and is symmetrical until the part of the facade above the residential entrance door. It contains an with on both sides two balconies and one on top of it. The balconies on the second floor are secured with a stone balustrade containing , while the other three are secured with a wrought iron railing. In the center of the oriel window, you can admire a fragment with a representation of two birds drinking from a little fountain. The acute gable is decorated with a small round window, framed with ornamentation of semi-geometrical and semi-floral motives. Above the windows, on the third floor, you can see a lavishly decorated triangle fragment. More triangles are used in the between the third and fourth floor, as well as in the vertical panel above the residential entrance door.
