Ivan Petrov House

The residential building, which was built in 1910, was built by the engineer Gero Gerov. It was built for the Bulgarian Colonel and one of the heroes of the , Ivan Petrov, who was born in on June 19, 1864. During the , the Russian Emperor stayed at his father's house. He graduated from the Military School in in 1884 and he began his military career as commander of the 7th Preslav Infantry Regiment in . He was later transferred to work in Ruse where he started a family and built this house. He died heroically on October 17, 1912, leading the 3rd and 4th companies of his regiment in an attack on the left flank of the Turkish troops located on the east bank of the Soujak Dere River. He was buried in the yard of the Bulgarian church in Bunar Hisar.

The most eye-catching feature of the Art Nouveau building is the on the northeastern corner. The turret is crowned with a hexagonal dome, which contains a dormer with a pointed . The roof of the dome, as well as the roof of the rest of the building, is supported by wooden . The turret also contains a balcony, which is secured with a cast iron railing. On the north side of the building, you can see a rectangular bay window. The building also contains many geometric shapes, of which the circle is the most used.
