Atanas Popov House

The residential building was built in 1912 for the civil engineer Atanas Nikolov Popov, who drew the designs and plans for his own home. He was born in 1875 in Ruse and is the son of the Revival teacher Nikola Popov. He graduated from the University of in 1901 and from 1912 to 1920 he worked for the Ruse Regional Engineering Department. After his death on December 23, 1920, his wife Lyubitsa and his young daughter Dora remained in the house. Later, Lyubitsa remarried , a native of , and was the paternal first cousin of .

The most eye-catching feature of the Art Nouveau building is the tower like structure on the southwestern corner of the building. On top of it, you can see a scaly sheet metal hip roof, which contains some cute little dormers, and has a on top of it. The , which can be seen underneath most of the windows, are adorned with and . The two that can be seen on the second floor are supported with columns and that are crowned with Doric . The stone balustrade that secures the loggia is embellished with stone . The same balusters are used in the banister and the , which can be seen on the first floor.
