Hugo Schober House

The residential building, which was built in 1911, was built for the Austrian merchant Hugo Schober, who was the owner of the first taxis in Ruse. Together with his partner Heinrich Langben he had a joint company in Ruse, which issued a large number of postcards with views of Ruse. After several years of working together, they gave up the business. Later, he is the general representative of a German company and was responsible for the import of agricultural machines and iron stoves for cooking. From 1924, as an independent trader, he imported coal, stoves, and machines.

The next owner of the house was the lawyer Yordan Rashenov, a native of , from the family of Hristo Rashenov. He graduated in law in Switzerland, where he came under communist influence, and when he returned to Bulgaria he became a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party. He became close to the communist lawyers Alexander Atanasov and Naiden Kirov and participated as a defender in the trials of participants in the of 1923. He had two daughters, Milka Rashenova, a graduate of economics, and Katya Rashenova, a pianist and music teacher.
