Former Hotel Splendid

The residential and commercial building was built in 1912 for the merchant and donor Ivan Lazarov. It was built to serve as a hotel and restaurant and was designed by the architect Vasil Roglev. Ivan Lazarov rents out the building to the Abadjievi brothers, merchants from Ruse with shops in , Tutrakan, , and . The Abadjievi brothers set up a hotel called Splendid and opened a bank office, where Ruse residents invest their savings or send money abroad. The hotel consisted of a total of eight rooms for guests spread over all floors. On the first floor, there is a shop for fashionable women's and children's clothes by Marko Stoyanov. After the nationalization, the building housed the District Department of State Security.
The Abadjievi brothers
The building is built in the style of Art Nouveau, which can be seen by all the ornaments that contain whiplash lines and natural forms. The scaly sheet metal mansard roof contains a total of three dormers. On the same level, you'll be able to see a gable that features a shield like ornament, which contains the initials И.Л. (I.L.). If you look a bit further down, you'll see a fragment, which contains the construction year 1912. A semi-octagonal is placed underneath it with a small balcony on top of it.
