Dimitar Sokerov House

The residential and commercial building was built in 1898, which was one of the two years of the largest construction periods in Ruse. It was designed according to a project of the Bulgarian architect Todor Petrov. Nothing is known about the first owner of the house, except the initials Л.Н. (L.N.), which are placed on the facade.

The next owner was the rich lawyer and journalist Gancho Sokerov, who comes from the famous Sokerov family from . His father, Dimitar Ganchev Sokerov, graduated from Robert College in and became the director of the Men's Gymnasium. Later he was invited by the Ruse School Board as a teacher at the Ruse Boys' High School called Knyaz Boris and from 1886 until 1888, he became the director. After that, he also became the director of the Ruse Girls' Gymnasium.

Within the dormer of the Neo-Baroque building, which is located within the scaly sheet metal mansard roof, you'll see a with the initials Л.Н. (L.N.). The , which are placed underneath the roof , are embellished with foliage. If you look a bit further down, you'll see some that are decorated with decorative shells. A swan neck or a segmental is placed above the windows on the second floor. Within the segmental pediments, you'll be able to see a different cartouche than the one within the swan neck pediment, which is inscribed with the construction year 1898. The window frames are adorned with and and the with decorative shells and . The balcony on the second floor is supported by three corbels and is secured with a stone balustrade, which is embellished with more shells and acanthus foliage.
