Mihail Silagi House

The residential and commercial building was built in 1924 according to a project of the architect Angel Devetakov and was built for the pharmacist Mihail Silagi. He is one of five children of the Hungarian revivalist, revolutionary, director, and pharmacist . Mihail Silagi was born on November 8, 1878, and graduated in pharmacy in , and started working at the family pharmacy in Ruse. It was located on the first floor of the Girdap Bank and in 1901, his father transferred the pharmacy entirely to him. After the bankruptcy of the Girdap Bank in 1924, the pharmacy had to leave the bank building.

Mihail Silagi bought a place from the Turkish Mufti's Board of Trustees on Alexandrovska Street opposite the Girdap Bank, where he built his new house and pharmacy. He married Ana Ribarova, but they had no children, and adopted his nephew Ivan, who was orphaned in 1944 after the murder of his father, the famous lawyer .

Mihail Silagi has received awards for his participation in the , the , and the as a member of the 5th Danube Division as a medical captain.
