Gatyu Tsonev House

The second residential and commercial built for the merchant and construction entrepreneur Gatyu Tsonev was built in 1902. It was designed by the engineer Todor Tonev and in 1911 upgraded by the design of the architect Onufriy Zarzov. Gatyu Tsonev was born on November 11, 1862, in and after the , he moved to Ruse and worked on the construction of many buildings. He participated in the tender, which the municipality held on January 26, 1898, for the construction of the theater in the Revenue Building and won it together with the masonry master Petar Atanaso. The shops of his wife Elena, with whom he had five children, were located on the first floor. Housed in the basement of the building was the brewhouse of the brewery called by the name Red Salon.
