Heinrich Langben House

The original building was built in 1896 the reconstruction took place in 1907 by a design of the Bulgarian architect Todor Petrov. Trade warehouses were located on the first floor and the offices on the second. It was built for the German industrialist and merchant Heinrich Langben. He was experienced in international trade and is involved with his capital in the establishment of the Machine Factory and Iron Foundry. In 1912, Heinrich Langben's company was transformed into the Bulgarian Trade Joint Stock Company, which supplied machinery and technical equipment from Germany to the Ruse enterprises. Later he became a representative of the German car company Stoewer, and in the 1920s and 1930s, together with Hugo Schober, they had a taxi company in Ruse. After the nationalization, the building housed a dormitory for students from the German school and the College of Chemistry, and since 1973 it has also housed the Ruse Television Center.

The symmetrical facade of the Art Nouveau building is richly decorated with floral and geometric ornaments. The building represents many rectangular, square, and round shapes, which can even be seen in the windows. On top of the building, you'll be able to see four fragments that are lavishly decorated with floral ornamentation. The same counts for the beautiful decoration which can be seen around and underneath the windows. Above one of the circular windows, you can see a , and underneath it a small balcony. On the second floor, you'll see two more balconies, each supported by nine tiny . The three balconies are secured with cast iron railings. On the west side of the building, there's a round shaped tower with a conical roof on top of it.
