Nikola Bulgarov House

The residential building was built somewhere at the end of the 19th century and was most likely designed by the architect Spiros Valsamaki. It was built for the merchant and industrialist Nikola Bulgarov, who was born in 1848 in Tarnovo, nowadays . Later on, he moved to , where after the he was elected one of the first Mayors of the city. Later, he moved to Ruse where he owned a tobacco factory, was a member of the Board of Directors of the First Bulgarian Insurance Company called Bulgaria, and was one of the founders of the Bulgarian Commercial Bank in Ruse. He was appointed by the National Assembly in 1895 as an entrepreneur of the Roman-Shumen railway. After an accident in 1923, in which his wife died, the house was sold to the Bulgarian National Bank.

From 1919 to 1925, the famous communist functionary and lawyer Naiden Kirov lived here. He was a leading figure in the public life of Ruse after the . As a law student in , he became one of the most enthusiastic disseminators of communist ideas in Bulgaria. He was elected a delegate to the Third Congress of the Comintern in in 1921. He was a municipal councilor and was most active during the Ruse Commune from 1919 until 1921. After the on the church "Holy Sunday" on April 16, 1925, he was killed along with other communists in Ruse.
Naiden Kirov
On top of the Neo-Classical building, you'll be able to see a , which is adorned with , as well as a that's surrounded by floral ornamentation. The balcony underneath the tympanum is secured with a stone balustrade that contains and a cast iron railing. The balcony is surrounded by two statues of female figures and is supported by four that are embellished with foliage. The two that can be seen a bit below the two small dormers are adorned with a beautiful wavy pattern. Above the circle top windows, that are located underneath the balcony, you can see a and some . A pointed is placed above the other windows, which are decorated with two laying female figures and a decorative vase in their midst. All of the , that can be seen in between the windows and on the corners of the building are crowned with Doric .
