Former Bon Marche Store

The residential and commercial building was built in 1902 and was designed by the Polish architect Edwin Petriczky. It was built for the French entrepreneur Andre Turio, who settled in Ruse in 1865 and built five of the most representative and stylish houses. The building was built under the supervision of the Bulgarian engineer Georgi Chavov, who is a graduate of civil engineering in in 1888. According to the architectural design, the building was supposed to be located on the corner plot, but Turio could not fully realize it. Andre Turio rents out the premises to the large clothing store Bon Marche.

On top of the symmetrical building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Classical and Neo-Baroque, you'll be able to see two small dormers, with a pointed and a globe on top of them. Underneath the roof , you can see a strip of , which got interrupted in some places by . The corbels, which are located above the that are crowned with Corinthian , are embellished with four . Above the windows, on the third floor, you can see a straight pediment with a beautiful ornament on top of it and underneath this same window, you'll be able to see a . Above the windows, on the second floor, you can see a richly decorated pointed pediment and underneath it a balcony. The balcony is supported by three huge corbels and is secured with a beautifully decorated wrought iron railing. The pilasters on the first floor are beautifully decorated. On top, you can see a that's adorned with pinecones, which have been a symbol of human enlightenment, resurrection, eternal life, and regeneration. If you look a bit further down you'll be able to see a holding a shield shaped cartouche and a bit further down you'll see an angel and some floral ornaments.
