Yordan Sapundzhiev House

The residential building was built in 1911 and the design came from the hand of the Bulgarian architect Vasil Roglev. It was built for the entrepreneur Yordan Sapundzhiev and his wife Stoyanka Yordanova Sapundzhieva. Yordan Sapundzhiev was nicknamed the American because he had a bureau that send workers to America. Later the house was owned by Dimitar Rogozherov, who participated in the trade and joint-stock partnership with his other two brothers, Marin and Encho. Heirs of the house are his wife Maria Rogozherova, daughter of the industrialist Mincho Kovachev and Katya Rogozherova.

The stately building was built in the styles of Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance and contains a beautiful panel with a coat of arms. On it you'll see the construction date 1911 and two lions, which are holden up a shield, that is inscribed with the initials Ю.С. (Yu. S.). The building contains a total of three balconies, one of which is on the north side and two on the south side of the building. All of them are secured with a cast iron railing, and one of the southern ones is covered by a roof.

The roof , which can be seen underneath the scaly sheet metal mansard roof, contains some beautifully decorated . The pointed and straight , which are located above some of the windows on the second floor, are adorned with . The same applies to the Corinthian , which are placed on the flower-decorated . The that can be seen in the are embellished with foliage.

The that can be admired on the first floor are adorned with the technique of . Underneath them, you can see some circles, and between one of the windows, you'll be able to see another pilaster with a Corinthian capital.
