Sarkis Kuyumjian Mansion

The residential building, which was built in 1900, is designed by the Bulgarian architect Todor Petrov. It was built for the Armenian merchant Sarkis Kuyumjian, who was the manager of an English-Bulgarian Shareholding Company in the umbrella industry. In 1892, due to the repression against the Armenians in , he settled with his family in , and later in Ruse. His wife, Satenik, comes from a family of wealthy Aslanyan merchants who traded in tobacco and wool in England. Together they had five children, four sons, Takvor, Krikor, and Rupen, and one daughter, Ahavni were all born in Turkey and their youngest son whom they named Dikran was born in Ruse.

Around 1910, Sarkis Kuyumjian's family moved to and sold the house to Petar Parteniev, who was the District Governor of Ruse from 1913 to 1918. The next owner was the merchant Tsani Rogozherov from , who moved in 1914 to Ruse with his sons Dimitar, Encho, and Marin. And even later, the house belonged to Silviya Hadzhimincheva.

The building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque, is beautifully contrasted by red bricks and white sandstone. Within the scaly sheet metal mansard roof, you'll be able to see multiple dormers, one of which is topped with a broken segmental . A strip of is placed underneath the roof , as well as three small windows with a swan neck pediment on top of them. There are some placed in between these small windows. Above the windows, you'll be able to see a swan neck pediment combined with a segmental pediment, which is embellished with a decorative shell and floral ornamentation. A is placed above the small circle top windows, as well as in the Corinthian , which are placed above the rectangular . The round shaped pilasters, that flank the windows, are decorated with a and are crowned with an Ionic capital. Above the main entrance door, within the segmental pediment, you can admire a , which is also surrounded by beautiful floral ornamentation. The main entrance door is covered by a lovely wrought iron . The two contain the same as the balustrade of the small yard terrace and the two banisters.
