Emin Moemeleji House

- Cherven Street 18 -
The residential building was built in 1898, according to a project of the Bulgarian architect , for the prominent public figure Emin Moemeleji. It was built on a location, where until 1896, an old mosque used to stand. Rumor has it that the house is inhabited by ghosts, and for this reason, it was sold for nothing to engineer Zhekov. The next owner was the lawyer Aron Jeladeti Meyer, which was one of the leaders of the Jews in Ruse. In the 1920s, he also was a shareholder in the machine factory and iron foundry "Petar Nedyalkov and Co". More recently the building underwent a renovation, which changed the appearance of the dome like structure on the corner of the building, as well as the dormers within it.
