Petar Baklov House

The residential building, which was built in 1906, was designed by the architect Onufriy Zarzov. It was built for the merchant and banker Petar Baklov, who was born in 1872 in Tarnovo, nowadays . He graduated from the Robert College in and after the death of his brother Dimitar in 1901 he took over the management of the family company. He also holds multiple senior positions in the most important financial institutions in the city. He is a member of the Board of the Bulgarian Home Bank, the Bulgarian Commercial Bank, and the insurance company called Bulgaria. In 1919 he became the vice president of the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1920, he moved to , but did not forget Ruse, he was elected Ruse Member of Parliament in 1923. He was the permanent chairman of the Bulgarian Trade Union until his death in 1933.

Later the doctor Marin Shishkov lived in the house, who was a specialist in internal and nervous diseases. After a complete renovation, designed by architect Pavel Dochev, the building is given to the House of Scientists.
