Ivan Burov House

The residential building was built in 1908 by a design of the architect Yanovich. It was built for the banker Ivan Burov, who was born on May 14, 1873, in , in the family of the prominent merchant and his wife Kinka Poptodorova. His younger brother is the famous Bulgarian politician and diplomat .

Ivan Burov graduated from the Academy of Commerce in and then worked at the Credit Lyon branch in . In 1900 he moved to Ruse, where he developed extensive financial and economic management, and in 1909 he moved to and became a member of the Board of the Bulgarian Commercial Bank. He fought as an officer in the , the , and the .

He was married to Ivanka Aleksieva, daughter of the great Bulgarian doctor Alexi Hristov and sister of professor doctor Vladimir Alexiev. Ivan Burov died on December 9, 1939, in Sofia.

On the north side of the Art Nouveau building, you can see a tower like structure, which is embellished with floral ornamentation, an motif, and the initials И.Б. (I.B.). The roof overhang is supported by wooden and underneath these corbels, you can see a , which is decorated with floral ornamentation. A straight is placed above some of the windows on the second floor. Underneath some of the windows on the second floor, you'll be able to see an that's adorned with six .

On the southeast corner of the building, you'll see two , which are both secured with a stone balustrade. The two supportive corbels underneath one of the loggias are embellished with floral ornamentation. One of the stone balustrades contains the same as the two other balustrades that secure two of the balconies. One of these balconies is placed above the main entrance door, which is located on the northeastern corner. The other one is placed above the semi-dodecagonal bay window, which is located on the south side of the building.
