Stefan Dimitrov House

The construction of the residential building started in 1924 and was completed in 1926 and was built according to a project of the Italian architect and the Bulgarian architect . The construction was commissioned by the Bulgarian entrepreneur Stefan Dimitrov, who with his brother Petar Dimitrov founded the Sawmill, Parquet, Packaging and Barrel Factory, which was among the most modern at that time in the city. Stefan was married to Maria Stefan Dimitrova, with whome he had two sons, Dimitar and Nikola, and one daughter, Radka. After the coup of , 1944, the entire property and the factory were nationalized. The family moved to the village of Yablechevo and was allowed to return to Burgas in 1953. The building was restituted to the family in 1993 and in 2022 the building underwent a complete renovation.

The mansard roof of the Eclectic and Art Nouveau building features many dormers, all of which are topped with a in all shapes and sizes. Some of the pediments are embellished with a , which is surrounded by and either floral ornamentation or . The building contains loads of bay windows, which are all topped with a balcony that is secured with a balustrade that contains that same balusters as used in the . The fence that separates the premises from the street contains even more volutes, while the gate is lavishly decorated with whiplash lines, a common feature used in the Art Nouveau style.
