Jovi Vodenicharov House

The design of the residential and commercial was created by the Italian architect and was completed in 1893. It was built for the Bulgarian lawyer, politician, and Mayor of Burgas, Yovi Vodenicharov, who was born in 1850 in the village of Zmeyovo, as the son of a well-known mill master from . He completed his primary education at home, and after that he was sent to study law in . He became a member of the secret revolutionary committee founded by and shared his ideas on the way to the .

He was elected Mayor of Burgas on July 11, 1903, but soon after was removed from his post on October 13, 1903, as a criminal case was initiated against him for falsifying a document. Before long, their innocence is proven and they are acquitted, but a stain remains with which he cannot return to his former position. During the short time, he has been Mayor, Yovi Vodenicharov has dealt with a number of pressing and important problems of Burgas, the health of the residents and the cleanliness of the city are among his first priorities. After the blow to his honor and name, he withdrew from the political scene for 8 years, then returned as a member of the city's municipal council in 1912. This is also the last state post he held during his lifetime. He died on April 15, 1915, in Burgas.
Yovi Vodenicharov
The roof of the Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance building contains four cute little dormers. On of the strip of , which is placed underneath the roof , is embellished with foliage. The other, yet smaller strip, contains some pinecones, which are a symbol of human enlightenment, resurrection, eternal life, and regeneration. In between the two strips of dentils, you'll be able to see an motif. On the second floor, on the northwestern corner, you can see a triangular , which is supported by columns that are crowned with Ionic . The balustrade that secures the loggia contain the same as the that are placed underneath the windows. The that can be admired on the same floor are crowned with Corinthian capitals. A segmental is placed above the two windows, one of which is adorned with a that's inscribed with the Latin letter J and Cyrillic letter B (V) and the year of construction 1893.
