Nayden Markov House

The construction of the building, which was exclusively built with a residential function, started in 1906 and was completed in 1908. The construction was commissioned by the Bulgarian merchant Nayden Mikov Markov and the design was created by the Austrian architect , who also created the house of his uncle in . Nayden Markov was born on February 10, 1873, in in the family of Miko Minchev and Naida Dinova. He studied in and when he moved back to Bulgaria he settles in Burgas where he worked as a bank clerk and later as merchant. He got married to Zafirka Georgieva Markova and together they had three children. Their daughter Naida, got married and moved to , and their sons Georgi, and Mihail stayed in Burgas. Their son Georgi became an electrical engineer and got married to Stoyanka Khandzhieva and together they had two children, Nayden and Dimitar.

The building has undergone several renovations and restorations, in which the attic has unfortunately lost its former glory, but the renovation of 2018 has given the building a part of its former glance.
Nayden Mikov Markov
The scaly sheet mansard roof of the symmetrical building, which was built in the styles of Neo-Classical and Neo-Renaissance, contains some modernistic dormers. Either a segmental or a straight is placed above the second floor windows. The window that's topped with a segmental pediment is flanked by four , which are all crowned with an Ionic . A bit further down, you'll be able to see a balcony, which is supported by a total of four supportive . The stone balustrade contains the same as the , which are placed underneath the second floor windows. On the northeastern corner, there's a bay window, which is placed at a 45-degree angle in comparison to the rest of the building.
