Konstantin Turdoglu House

The residential building, which later became a hotel, was constructed in 1912 according to a design that was created by the Bulgarian architect Mikhail Nenkov. The building was built for the Bulgarian chairman of the Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce, Konstantin Turdoglu, born into the famous and wealthy Turdoglu family. Konstantin is the nephew of the famous Bulgarian tobacco merchant and philanthropist Dimitar Petrov Kudoglu, who's the brother of his mother Maria. Konstantin is listed, along with his brother Dimitar, as an essential part and the closest person to Dimitar Petrov Kudoglu.

In 1920, he bought this building with the idea of ​​making it his home in Plovdiv. Here he also moved a large part of his furniture from his home in . In 1923, he gifted this building to his second nephew, Konstantin Turdoglu. He was also part of the board of the Kudoglu Foundation, which was founded by his uncle on December 1, 1926, to help the poor and suffering people of Plovdiv.

The beautiful building, which is built in the Eclectic style with some Neo-Baroque elements, features three . There's a balcony placed on top of two of the oriel windows, which are either supported by two or three . The balconies, of which one of them is placed between one of the oriel windows, are secured with a wrought iron railing, which is richly adorned with . This also counts for the two corbels that support the , which covers one of the entrances on the western side. The building is lavishly decorated with all sorts of garlands, some of which have been used to create a .

A , embellished with a lion , is placed underneath the protuded part of the roof . This cornice is in some places adorned with five , each of which is decorated with four circles. The second floor windows are all topped with a , but only one of them is flanked by two round-shaped , which are crowned with an Ionic . A bit further up, you can two more pilasters that are crowned with a capital, which is adorned with an motif. The stone blocks that are used to flank the two entrances on the west and northern side of the building, are decorated with the technique of . An oval window is placed above one of the entrances, which is flanked by two corbels that are embellished with a total of three .
