Former Hotel Metropol

The residential building was constructed according to a design of the Czech–Bulgarian architect in collaboration with the Bulgarian architect . The construction was completed in 1901 and the plaster ornamentation was created by the artist Emmanuel Lupos. It was originally constructed to house the Hotel Metropol, but over the years it also housed a hotel that was called August 6, as well as a shop called Valentina. In 1953 the building became part of the Drama Theater and functions as an administrative building.

One of the strips of , which are placed underneath the roof of the Neo-Renaissance building, is embellished with foliage. Some of the are crowned with a Composite , while the other ones are crowned with a Doric one, while both of the capitals are decorated with an motif. The last mentioned pilasters are adorned with a richly decorated , but the other ones are adorned with three . The window sills of the third floor windows are supported by two , all of which are decorated with five .

Above the second floor windows, you can see a pretty unusual, but beautiful swan neck , which is connected by a segmental part that contains a cartouche. Within the pediment, you'll be able to see a decorative shell and two , which is a symbol of abundance. The fruits and vegetables that flow out of the horns continue their way on both sides of the windows. One of the corbels that support the beautiful pediment also functions as a . The same counts for some of the corbels that support the balcony, which stretches along the entire main facade.
