Dimitar Grebenarov House

The residential and commercial building, which was built in 1912, was owned by the Bulgarian Doctor Dimitar Grebenarov and his wife Penelope Grebenarova. Dimitar, who came from the city of , was born in the family of Hristo Grebenarova and Elena Grebenarova. Penelope was born in 1880, as the daughter of Yanko and Teofanu Rakaji, and heiress of one of the wealthiest Plovdiv families at the beginning of the 19th century. She was the granddaughter of Hadji Valko Rakaji, a Plovdiv industrialist born in . Dimitar and Penelope had three children together, a daughter named Elena, and two sons named Ivan and Hristo, who became a doctor and lawyer. Penelope and the wife of the merchant commissioned the construction of the building that was later rented out to Hotel Molle.

Later on, the building was bought by Nikola Kirkov, who arrived in the city in 1923. He bought it together with his brother Pando Kirkov, who returned from the United States of America in 1928.

The roof , which runs around the entire Neo-Classical and Neo-Renaissance building, is embellished with . The frieze is adorned with rectangles with cut-out corners, as well as . There are more rosettes visible above the third floor windows, between the , and between the third and second floor windows. In the midst of the triglyphs that are placed underneath the third floor windows, you'll be able to see an ornament consisting of and a French lelie. The , which is located above the arched entrance, contains the initials С.Е.П. (S.E.P.) and the construction year 1912.
