Hristo Dimov House

The residential building, also known as the Architect's House, was built in 1923 by a design of the Bulgarian architect Hristo Dimov for him and his family. He was born on November 22, 1890, in the village of Yaykanliiy, nowadays Dubovo, where he studied until the fourth grade, after which he graduated at the junior high school in , and at the high school in Stara Zagora. He continued his education in , where he studied architecture. In 1921, he graduated with honors from the Czech Technical University. He interrupted his studies twice to participate in the , the , and the , after which he was awarded the Soldiers' Cross for Bravery.

After his return to Bulgaria, he settled in Stara Zagora, where from 1921 to 1924, he worked as an architect for the Stara Zagora Municipality, and after that, he runs his own private studio. During his career, he designed schools, mineral and hygienic baths in different villages and cities, as well as a large number of residential buildings. For 20 years he works tirelessly to create qualified personnel with secondary education for the construction industry. He teaches all architectural disciplines and turns his own studio into an architecture office, where his vast library is available to students.

On September 6, 1915, he got married to Stefanka Hristova Mineva, and together they had two daughters, Penka Hristova Dimova and Lyubima Hristova Dimova. Hristo Dimov died on March 14, 1983, in Stara Zagora, at the age of 92.

On the east side of the modernist and Art Deco building, you'll be able to see a semi-circular with a small balcony on top of it. The gable above it, just as well as the gable on the south side of the building, contains an ornament that represents a column and an Ionic . The that can be admired underneath the oriel window, flows elegantly into the Doric capital of the below it. The oriel window is flanked by ornamental vases with underneath it two decorative chains and relief lines. This spectacle repeats itself on the southern side of the building. Underneath the windows on the second floor, you can either see a fragment that features a scroll or a that contains . Above the , which can be seen on the south side of the building, you can see a little roof terrace. The shapes used in the building are also reflected in the cast iron gate and fences.
