Zhelyazko Rashev House

The residential building, which was built in 1924, was built for the Bulgarian architect Zhelyazko Rashev for himself and the needs of his family. He was born on January 21, 1890, in Stara Zagora and graduated from a local high school, after which he studied architecture in . Before the , he worked in , and after the war, he moved back to Stara Zagora. In the period from 1920 until 1942, he was an architect and he owned a private studio. From February to July 1928, as a member of the National Liberal Party, he was the mayor of Stara Zagora. He was elected as a municipal councilor and is a member of the Management Board of the Stara Zagora Popular Bank. At the beginning of 1942, he was reappointed as the city architect of the Stara Zagora municipality. In his early period, the buildings designed by him were under the influence of the German Baroque, subsequently passing through late Art Nouveau, Eclecticism, and reaching Rationalism. Zhelyazko Rashev died on July 13, 1961, in Stara Zagora, at an age of 71.

In 2017, the new owner decided to preserve the old appearance of the building and reconstructed it.

The main features of the building that's built in the modern architectural style, are the two gables on the east and south side. Both of the gables are embellished with a fragment that contains a and a total of ten . Underneath the roof and above the second floor windows, you'll be able to see a strip of . An is placed underneath almost every window. On the east side of the building, you can see a semi-circular bay window with a balcony on top of it. The balcony, which is secured with a stone balustrade, contains some .
