Dimitar Mamarchev House

The residential building was built in 1909 and was designed by the Bulgarian architect . It was built for Colonel Dimitar Dimitrov Mamarchev. He was born in 1857, in the village Botevo, in the Varna province, as the son of Kara Radev and Ivana Radeva. He completed his military education in Russia and was assigned as a company commander in the famous 18th Ether Infantry Regiment, located in .

Dimitar Mamarchev was married to Bogdana Mamarcheva from and together they had six children. One of their daughters Ivana Zhana Mamarcheva was a skilled figure skater and became champion of Bulgaria in 1930. She started practicing this difficult sport in her childhood and school years on the frozen waters of the Yantra River.

The building was built in the styles of Eclectic and Art Nouveau. The most distinctive feature of the building is the on the left side of the main facade, with an octagonal on top of it. At the top of the main facade, you can see an alluring round pointy-shaped roof . The underneath the cornice is lavishly decorated with garlands and a . Above the two windows, you can see a that's adorned with and is surrounded by garlands. A was placed under the windows to add even more charm to the upper gable. the building is richly decorated with , which can be seen underneath the cornice on the main facade as well as the . On the western facade, just above the main entrance, you'll see a balcony with an elaborately decorated railing that continues the octagonal shape of the turret.
