Nacho Koev House

The construction of the residential building started in 1925 and was built by a project of the metropolitan architect Todorov from . When the construction was on its way, the famous Bulgarian architect reworked elements of the project and supervised the construction. The building was completed in 1927 and was built for the family of the pharmacist Nacho Koev. To build a home, he purchased a plot of land on Stoletov Street, which still bears the same name today. The beautiful wrought iron fence and gate are the work of the Vulkan ironwork workshop, which belonged to the master smith and artist Lazar Kostov.

Nacho was born on April 15, 1870, in Stara Zagora, and graduated in 1896 as a pharmacist from the University of . After his marriage to Maria Staneva, with the received dowry, he opened his own pharmacy and his business took off. His pharmacy was the most famous and longest-running private pharmacy in the city. His wife Maria Staneva died on April 10, 1940, in Sofia at the age of 55. After her death, Nacho makes a donation in honor of his wife of 22.000 BGN for the poor in the city. Nacho Koev died on March 19, 1953, in Stara Zagora at the age of 82.

What immediately catches the eye of the building, which is built in the styles of Art Nouveau and Neo-Renaissance, is the octagonal on the southeastern corner. The bell-shaped dome on top of the turret, which contains two dormers, is topped with a . The three spiky-shaped gables, as well as the roof , are adorned with a strip of unusually huge . The window frames are brightened up with three squares, which gives them extra charm. The building features a total of three semi-hexagonal bay windows, two of which with a balcony on top of it that is secured with a wrought iron railing.
