Khachik Altunyan House

- Stiliyan Chilingirov Street 3 -
The residential and commercial building was built in 1928, as can be seen above the balcony door. It was constructed according to a design of the Czech architect Toma Varhota. It was built for the Armenian merchant Khachik Altunyan, who was an owner of a hardware store. He later sold the building, as he did not like the layout of the premises, to the butcher Vendo Yosifov Leopoldov. He opened a shop on the first floor, where he offered the products of the family factory until the nationalization in 1948. He took over the family business of his father Yosif Leopoldov, who was born in Sušice, Czech Republic, in 1864.
