Joint-Stock Company Badashtnost Building

The administrative and commercial building, which was built for the Joint-Stock Company Badashtnost was founded on October 1, 1890, and was constructed somewhere at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Sometime later, the building was in use by the Union of Bulgarian Artists and even later it became in use by the Shumen Regional Department of Education.

On the east side of the building, there is a commemorative plaque for the victims of work accidents. In December 1986 a fire breaks out here, in which 4 people die.

The roof of the Neo-Baroque building features many dormers in different shapes and sizes, as well as a dome on the corner with a on top of it. The frieze either contains rectangulars with cut-out corners, or that are embellished with two . The placed on top of the only existing circle top window is embellished with a of the Greek god . When you look a bit further down, you'll be able to see an , which is placed at a 45-degree angle relative to the rest of the building. The oriel window is supported by two and topped with a balcony that's secured with a stone balustrade, which contains some beautifully curved . The framed fragments that are placed between the second and third floor windows are decorated with a with a in its midst. The that are placed underneath the second floor windows are adorned with either six or ten , among which the ones with ten guttae also contain two .
