Yordan Zhekov House

The residential and commercial building was one of the first buildings in the city of Shumen that was designed by the Czech architect Toma Varhota and was built somewhere around 1906. Its construction was ordered by the Bulgarian merchant Sava Karagyozov, who was born in 1869 in Shumen. He sold the building 25 years later to the Bulgarian dentist Yordan Zhekov.

The symmetrical building is built in the styles of Eclectic and Art Nouveau. The frames that are placed on top of the second floor windows are adorned with many geometric shapes, among which are two and a piece that's decorated with the technique of . Underneath these same windows, you can admire an , which is embellished with even more guttae, as well as a and a . The on the first and second floor are crowned with a Doric , of which the capital on the first floor is adorned with three guttae.
