Vasil Silyanovski House

The residential building belonged to Vasil Konstantinov Silyanovski and was built in 1912, as can be seen in the upper part of the northern facade. Vasil Silyanovski was a Bulgarian officer and major general in the military engineering department, a participant in the , the , and the . Vasil Silyanovski was born on November 10, 1870, in , then in the Ottoman Empire, as the nephew of Major General of the Russian army .

Between the period of 1906 and 1915, he was promoted from major all the way up to colonel. In 1909, he served successively as a military engineer of the 6th and 5th Infantry Divisions. During the First Balkan War and the Second Balkan War he was a procurement officer at the Bulgarian headquarters. In January 1915 he was appointed commander of the technical squad. During the First World War, he was the chief of the Engineering Troops of the 1st Army and the 3rd Military Inspectorate. In 1919 he retired, and on December 30, 1935, he was promoted to the rank of major general. Major General Vasil Silyanovski died in 1946 in Sofia.

The building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance also features some Art Nouveau elements. Many reliefs are used on the facade of the building. They can be seen as the background of the that are located in the upper part of the facade. They can also be seen in the underneath the windows on the second floor. As well as in the masonry work on the first floor and even in the on the second floor.

A beautiful can be seen on the eastern and the northern side of the building. Both of the oriel windows have a balcony on top of them that's secured with a cast iron railing. On the northern side of the building, there's a beautifully decorated fragment that contains the initials В.С. (V.S.), for the former owner Vasil Silyanovski. The windows on the first floor are crowned by straight supported by shaped . The massive give the building some additional vigor. The windows of the main entrance door have some small lovely pediments on top of them.
