Davidko Yakovich House

The residential and commercial building, which was built somewhere in the 18th century, was built for the Davidko Yachkov, who was an immigrant from . The building, which is the oldest preserved Renaissance house in Kyustendil, is also known by the name Procopius House. In the 1870s, one of the two rooms of the eastern residential part housed the Hellenic School in Kyustendil, which was a school for children of Greek origin. In 1912, after an upgrade that was executed by a design of the Austrian architect Karl Heinrich, a hotel named Dragoman opened its doors in the building, which was owned by Todor Raichilovski. The hotel also includes a restaurant and a beer hall where they served beer that was brewed by the . During the opening, the guests arrive in carriages and even in cars. Next to the beer hall, on the left of it, there's another hotel and restaurant, which is named Bulgaria.
The building before the upgrade
The building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Renaissance, Art Nouveau, and Eclectic, features a total of four . Each of these oriel windows contains a balcony and another balcony on top of it, which are all secured with a wrought iron railing that's beautifully decorated with floral ornamentation. The railings of the balconies that are placed between the oriel windows are embellished with and geometric shapes. At certain places underneath the roof , you'll be able to see a pair of that supports the roof overhang above them. The areas around the windows are lavishly decorated with all sorts of floral ornaments and geometric forms, with among them some .
