Angel Skachokov House

The residential and commercial building, of which the construction was completed in 1910, was built according to a project of an unknown architect. The construction was commissioned by the wealthy Bulgarian merchant and mayor of Vratsa in 1905, Angel Skachokov. He was a descendant of a family that moved from to Vratsa at the beginning of the 19th century. The family was involved in all sorts of trades, mainly with agricultural and forest lands. After the coup of , 1944, the house was nationalized and rented to military officers, and in 1989 the house was restituted to the heirs of Angel Skachokov.

The mansard roof of the building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau, contains various amounts of dormers, of which some of them are adorned with a and . Some parts of the roof are decorated alternately by of different sizes, as well as embellished with foliage. The frieze underneath it was decorated with all sorts of geometric shapes, and the band underneath the frieze with a lovely pattern. The building is also lavishly decorated with , , and . The parts between the first and second floor, on top of the , you can admire another cartouche. A is placed on the northeastern corner of the building, contributing to its majestic appearance.
