Đula Daun Palace

The construction of the residential and commercial building started in 1880 and was completed in 1882. It was designed by the Hungarian architect for the merchant and brickyard owner Đula Julius Daun. In the 1970s, the first floor was glazed over the entire length of the street facade, which damaged the architecture of the building and degraded it to a large extent. Over the years it also housed the former Department Store called .

Underneath the roof of the building that was built in the Neo-Renaissance style, you can see two different-sized strips of , one of which is decorated with foliage. In some places, the frieze is embellished with lavishly decorated . Above the windows, you can either admire a pointed, a straight, or a segmental , some of which are supported by that are adorned with acanthus foliage. Two of the segmental pediments are broken, which feature a decorative vase in the broken part of the pediment. Some of the windows are flanked by round-shaped , while others with rectangular ones. Although the shape of the pilaster differs, they are all crowned with an Ionic . Underneath some of the windows, you'll be able to see a , which contains . The building features many that give the building a nice multidimensional touch. The wooden entrance door that's located on the south side of the building contains wrought iron-barred windows that are decorated with .
