Šandor Kovač House

The residential and commercial building, which was built in 1896, was built for the nobleman and pharmacist Šandor Kovač. The building is a monumental two-story building that occupies two plots and is facing towards three different streets. In 2006, a renovation of the part of the building facing the main street took place, which has been preserved in its original appearance.

On top of the northeastern corner of the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Neo-Baroque, you can notice a tower-like structure that's crowned with a curved hip roof dome with a on top of it. On this same side, you'll be able to see an , which on top of it is decorated with . The oriel window is supported by three , two of which are embellished with foliage and . The semi-ovel-shaped corbels are decorated with a that's surrounded by floral ornamentation. The corners of the oriel window feature some that are crowned with a Doric . Under the roof , you can either see a strip of , an and a motif, or some corbels. Above some of the windows, you can see a straight or a segmental , of which the last mentioned pediments are decorated with volute-styled ornaments and a . An or a , which contains , is placed underneath some of the second floor windows. The pilasters on the first floor contain some protruded stone blocks, which gives them a nice multidimensional touch.
