Serbian Savings Bank Palace

The construction of the residential and commercial, which was built according to the plans of Serbian architect , started in 1899 and was completed in 1900. The of the Assumption commissioned the construction of the palace to house the Orthodox Church Municipality. In 1901 the the Serbian Savings Bank was established in the building, which was the first financial institution of the Serbs of Veliki Bečkerek, nowadays Zrenjanin. The building also housed some commercial parts, as well as apartments for the accommodation of officials and church dignitaries.

The Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality was founded on August 10, 1868. based on the imperial decree, which established the complete self-government of the church municipality on the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.

The building is built in the styles of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque and features some Art Nouveau elements. On the top of the southwestern corner, you can see a church-like tower, which is crowned with a bell-shaped dome that contains four dormers and is topped with a . The tower-like structure is brightened up with male and . Two different-sized strips of are placed underneath the roof . The frieze is at some point embellished with either a garland wreath or , which are connected with decorative shells. Above the second floor windows, you can admire mascarons, , and in all shapes and sizes.

Either an that's decorated with , a fragment containing a tracery of geometric elements, and embedded floral ornaments are placed underneath the windows. The that can be seen on this same floor, are adorned with geometric forms and embedded decorative shells. There's a beautifully decorated placed above the entrance door on the south side of the building. The oriel window, as well as the balcony on the corner, is supported by two . The corner entrance is flanked by two plaques that are most likely adorned with the Greek god and the Greek goddess . Above the entrance on the northern side of the building, you can see the year 1899 and a pointed pediment. The entrance is flanked by two pilasters that are crowned with a Corinthian .
