Austro-Hungarian Bank Building

The construction of the bank building started in 1899 and was completed in 1900. It was built according to a design of the architect and its construction was commissioned by the Austro-Hungarian Bank. The bank was established as the official state bank after the formation of the dual monarchy. Branches of the Austro-Hungarian Bank were built all over the country, and as many as 32 of them were built according to the plans of the architect József Hubert. From 1890 until the , during the period of intensive economic development, the largest number of banks, savings banks, and credit institutions were built throughout the country. Since 1920, the branch of the National Bank of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was located in the building.

The protruded part on the roof of the part of the building, which is built in the styles of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque, contains the Roman numerals MDCCCXCIX (1899). The segmental above it, which contains a lavishly decorated , is topped with a decorative vase. An motif is placed underneath the roof . Above the second floor windows, you can either admire a segmental or a pointed pediment, which are all supported by richly decorated . Underneath these same pediments, you can either see a or another lavishly decorated cartouche.

The cornice that's located between the first and second floor is adorned with circles, with underneath them a total of four . The first floor windows of the main facade are crowned with a lovely female that has two garlands attached to them. Above the main entrance door, you can see another segmental pediment, which is supported by two round-shaped that are crowned with a Tuscan . Around the keystone that's placed within the segmental door frame, you can adore some beautiful floral ornamentation. The wrought iron fence that separates the street from the premises is beautifully decorated with and foliage.
