Karl Holander Factory

The construction of the commercial building, which was built for the industrialist Karl Holander, was completed in 1906. From 1911 until 1928, he ran the candy, chocolate, and biscuit factory called Ambrozija in this building. The company was founded in 1894 and was the first candy factory in Veliki Bečkerek, nowadays Zrenjanin. It's produced mainly for the domestic market but also exported to Croatia and Bosnia. In 1918, the company was bought by the Veliki Bečkerec Savings Bank and Opšta Privredna Bank and was transformed into a joint stock company. It produced about 50 wagons of finished goods annually, employed 100 workers, and stopped working ten years later.

The next owner was Karl Nađ who founded the tape factory called Soču in the building in 1933. The building has been owned by the Serbian Agricultural Cooperative since 1945. The production of tape by the Soču company in the building lasted until 1975.

The roof of the building, which is built in the Eclectic style with some Art Nouveau elements, contains a total of five dormers.
