Former Grand Hotel Vojvodina

The residential and commercial building, which was built in 1886, was built by a design that came from the hand of the city engineer on the site of a small inn. It was commissioned by Franja Roža, who named the hotel Roža. In 1921, the hotel was bought by the Jew David Kon, who named it, the Grand Hotel . The new owner expanded and modernized the hotel, installed running cold and hot water and central heating in the rooms, renovated the tavern, turned the basement into a place for tea parties and smaller events, built a large theater and a cinema, and next to it a dining room.

He arranged a yard that stretched all the way towards Begej River with a long lawn and a park for the summer season. The hotel had a total of 30 rooms and 40 beds and it was the most modern hotel in the city at that time. During the renovation of the hotel, which lasted from 1968 until 1969, the courtyard wings of the building were demolished, and the interior was completely reshaped and modernized. Conservation and renovation works were carried out in 2003, and in 2012 the facade and roof were renewed.

The Neo-Renaissance building features two gables that are crowned with an open . A strip of , two , and two are placed underneath the pediments. Underneath the roof cornice, as well as the cornice that separates the first and second floor, you can see a strip of dentils, as well as an motif. Some of the other windows are crowned with a pointed pediment that is supported with two corbels. The underneath some of the pediments are beautifully decorated with floral ornamentation. The fragments that are located underneath the second floor windows feature a female with bunches of grapes as earrings. The that are placed above the first floor windows are adorned with a .
