Asen Yordanov House

The residential building, which was built in 1912, was most likely built for the engineer and chemist Hristo Pavlov Yordanov. He was born in 1861 in and later on moved to Sofia, where he died in 1929. He was the father of the famous Bulgarian inventor, engineer and aviator Asen Hristov Yordanov, who was born in Sofia on September 2, 1896.

From an early age, Asen's favorite pastime was making kites. In the summer of 1912, accompanied by his father, he visited technical exhibitions and museums in Italy, Switzerland, and France. His father then sent him to study in , but he entered the pilot school of the famous French designer in the suburb of Ethan.

During the golden age of airmanship in America, he occupied a distinct place among pilots. He gained almost a legendary status for his many roles as a flying instructor and test, airmail, air taxi, and stunt pilot.

The building was built in the Art Nouveau style. On the third floor, between the windows, you'll see a square frame of which the corners are cut out by small squares. An arched is placed above the windows on the first floor, both sides of the arch ending in a . The arches are adorned with , which are surrounded by foliage. Between the windows, you can see a pearl rod . Above the windows on the second floor, you'll see a horizontal garland that goes through three . The balcony above the main entrance door is secured with a beautiful curved wrought iron railing and is supported by two corbels. The ornaments between the corbels are decorated with volutes and acanthus foliage. The main entrance door contains lavishly decorated wrought iron-barred windows and some beautiful wood-carved decorative flowers.
