Cohen Family Mansion

The residential and commercial building, which was built in 1925, was constructed according to the design of the French civil engineer and the Jewish architect Eli Hassid Fernandez. It is built on the plot where Moses Cohen's shoe shop had stood since 1896, but which was destroyed by the of 1917. It was built on behalf of the Coen brothers, Moses, Vital, Samuel, Joseph, and Daniel, and was one of the first high-rise stores to be erected in the fire zone.

The main store with an entrance at the corner of the building was the shoe store of the Cohen brothers. It was one of the best of its kind, elegantly decorated. It was a shoe store with an integrated shoe workshop, both hand-made and machine-made.

Next to the shoe store, there was another store, which was that of Salvatore Cunio's Photographic Items, and next door was Vital Cohen's ready-to-wear and raincoat shop, which sold and manufactured his products. After the , the upper floors of the building were in use by the Higher Gendarmerie Administration, and for several years there was a glass shop named Hermeion.

The corner top of the Eclectic and Art Nouveau building is topped with a curved , which is supported by two within their midst a linear pattern. Underneath the that connects the fourth floor with the fifth floor, you can see , which is also the case with the straight , although they're alternated by . Between the fourth floor windows, you can either admire one of two . The part, which is located on the second floor and once holds a stone , is supported by multiple pairs of corbels.
