Gatenio-Florentin Palace

The building, which was constructed in 1925 with a commercial and administrative function, was built by a collaborating design of the Jewish architect Eli Hassid Fernandez and the French civil engineer that was created in 1904. The building was co-owned by Jacob and Mois Florentin, and the jeweler and watch merchant Mois Gatenio, a member of the general partnership M. Gatenio & Co., consisting of himself, his brother Alberto, and Semtov Saltiel.

The initial plan was to create an office building but this plan was later adapted to house the National Bank. In the years that followed, the building housed offices, banks, and other businesses. In 1930, the first coffee roaster of Lumidis was located on the first floor, which had a large electric roaster, as well as electric samovars.

The attic floor of the building, which is built in the styles of Eclectic and Rococo, contains multiple dormers all crowned with a globe as . A is placed underneath some of the dormers to which two are attached. Underneath each of the dormers, you can admire an motif, some , as well as a . The , which runs around the entire top of the third floor, is embellished with . The building contains two different kinds of , one kind is crowned by an Ionic , while the other ones are crowned by a Tuscan one. The building also features a lot of , which either consist of a wrought iron railing or a stone balustrade that contains . The protruding part of the entire second floor is supported by loads of massive corbels, which are adorned with garlands.
