Dimitar Yablanski House

The residential building was designed by the architect and its construction began in 1906 and was completed in 1907. The exterior decorations are the work of the royal decorator of the Bulgarian royal family, .

The building was built for the Bulgarian officer, financier, and politician, Dimitar Markov Minchev, who later changed his name to Dimitar Yablanski. He was born on October 24, 1858, in the village of as the son of . His older brother was chairman of the revolutionary committee in Yablanitsa. The father sent his young son Dimitar to study with one of the most educated revivalists and revolutionaries, .

After the liberation, Dimitar Yablanski graduated from the Military School in Sofia and the Officer Rifle School in . In 1893 he studied and graduated in political and economic sciences in . After returning to Bulgaria, he married the daughter of the prominent financier and politician , Haritina, and together with her, they got one daughter called Maria. He became a member of the People's Party and from 1897 until 1899 he was mayor of Sofia. During the rule of , he was accused of his political activity by the National Assembly. In September 1922 he was arrested and sent to Prison, and on June 16, 1924, he was pardoned. He died on March 7, 1937, in Sofia.

The house, which was designed in the Neo-Baroque style, also is adorned with some Renaissance elements and the interior stucco was done in the Rococo style. The symmetrical top gable on the eastern facade is richly decorated and is topped with a segmental , with underneath it a . A lot of beautiful ornamentation was used around the three circle top windows, like , foliage, and a pediment that ends in a , as well as two that are leaning on a vase.

Underneath the and the row of , three oval windows can be seen, which are topped with a leaf-shaped and garlands. The three oval windows are flanked by two corbels each. The windows and balcony door are adorned with unique pediments, cartouches, a lion head , decorative shells, and corbels. Above this spectacle, two female figures are holding a cartouche, which is inscribed with the Cyrillic letters "ДЯХ" (D.YA.H). Just underneath the there are some that are decorated with some beautiful flowers. The northern facade has identical decorative ornaments to the eastern facade. Except here you can see a scroll-like fragment which is decorated with the lion head, seashell, and laurel and palm twigs as well as a smaller balcony with four supportive corbels.

On the western side of the building, there is a porch with a balcony above it. The balcony is secured with a decorative wrought iron railing and is supported by four columns that are crowned with Ionic . Also, the four flanking the entrance door are having an Ionic capital. On the southern side of the building, you can see a on both the first and the second floor. The building is surrounded by a beautifully decorated wrought iron fence, which is interrupted by stone piers with a decorative vase on top of them.
