Simon Mathias House

- Piața Unirii 3 -
The construction of the four-story building, which was originally built as a two-story building, took place way back in 1785. The building belonged to the master glassmaker Simon Mathias and from 1828 it became the property of Elisabetha Dadany. In the first half of the 19th century, the building functioned as a hostel and cafeteria, which bore the name La Elefant, and later it was also used as a store by the Deutsch brothers for some time. An upgrade of two floors took place in 1932, and between 1980 and 1981, the building received its beautiful ornamentation according to the project of Romanian architect .
